Card-not-Present (CNP) Fraud: How to Stay Safe

CNP fraud occurs when criminals use your card details to make purchases online or over the phone, without the need for the physical card.

Steps to prevent CNP fraud:

  • Use secure websites for online shopping (look for “https://” and a padlock symbol).
  • Never share your card information over unsecured platforms (social media, random emails, or text messages).
  • Avoid exposing your card to any third party especially in high traffic public places such as airports or shopping malls.

Password Security:

Protect Your Account with Strong Passwords

Using weak or easy-to-guess passwords can leave your account vulnerable to fraud. Always choose a password that is unique and difficult for others to guess.

Tips for creating a strong password:

  • Use a mix of characters. Include uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special symbols.
  • Avoid common words or phrases, like your name, date of birth, first/last digits of your phone number or "password123".
  • Create a long password. Aim for at least 12 characters.
  • Avoid using the same password across multiple sites and accounts
